Position Summary
The Billing Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all project-related billing and financial transactions. This position supports the Project Management, Accounting, and Operations teams by managing contract documentation, progress billings, and change orders—ensuring alignment between project financials and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

The Project Manager role:
The Project Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager. The Project Manager oversees the design and build of end user projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget, and within scope. The Project Manager controls all aspects of projects, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring/summarizing the progress of the project. The Project Manager will periodically travel to client sites, which can range from public school buildings to small, medium, and enterprise-level businesses, to government entities which require stringent background clearances. Our clients are predominantly within the state of Pennsylvania, though occasional overnight travel will be necessary. The Project Manager will be provided with a company vehicle w/ AAA membership and fuel card, a company laptop, a company tablet, a company cell phone, and all necessary tools and equipment.

The position entails:
- Leading job kickoffs and site meetings
- Preparing Scope of Work with the Sales team
- Creating project schedules and identifying project milestones
- Compiling risk analyses and managing risk
- Working in conjunction with Site-Superintendents to maintain project efficiency
- Effectively communicating job status to end user (customer) and/or contractor
- Effectively communicating job status to internal stakeholders (Sales, Management, Engineering teams)
- Effectively communicating scope of work with field team and preparing project for successful outcome
- Communicating daily with field staff for project updates
- Mentoring technicians directly and indirectly managed by PM
- Creating project cost and scheduling reports
- Handling calls from customers
- Scheduling warranty calls with service department as needed throughout job life cycle
- Answering customer questions regarding operation of system, technical issues, installation details, warranty matters, and monitoring queries.
- Directing customers to appropriate BSGI parties for assistance
- Scheduling final system checkouts with Inspections team
- Verifying all warranty dates
- Ensuring paperwork related to project is completed and entered in Sedona
- Communicating need for customer training with BSGI Trainers at completion of project
- Updating schedule for field staff sick call-offs
- Approving field staff vacation requests
- Completing field staff performance reviews
- Other duties as assigned
Where You’ll Be Located:
- Ideally, you are located in Central PA
- Travel to client sites primarily throughout the state of Pennsylvania, including occasional overnights, as well as travel to our Reading, York, and State College offices will be necessary
- You must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license and clear driving record to drive a company vehicle
What You Bring:
- Associate's degree in a technical field (Mechatronics, Electrical, Engineering) required
- Five (5) years of experience in implementing or managing the installation of Electronic Security / Life Safety Systems, or related field required
- At least two (2) years of experience supervising Commissioning Agents, Installers, Apprentices, and Subcontractors required
- Strong knowledge of Life Safety industry fundamentals, NFPA requirements, building code and operations required
- Solid subcontracting skills required
- In-depth understanding of job financial reports and the ability control costs in the handling of large projects required
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical (Mechatronics, Electrical, Engineering) capacity or applicable industry experience preferred
- PMP Certification a plus

About the Service & Installation Technician Role
As a Service & Installation Technician, you’ll play a key role on our team, working directly with our Vice President and collaborating with both Sales and Operations. Your day-to-day work will include installing, servicing, and troubleshooting fire, security, card access, and video surveillance systems for residential and small commercial customers.
This is a hands-on, field-focused role that involves daily travel across Pennsylvania—primarily between Harrisburg and Philadelphia. Most projects are local, and you’ll be supported every step of the way with the tools, training, and resources you need to succeed.
