The Life Safety Inspector Role:
Reporting to the Fire Inspections Life Safety Supervisor, the Life Safety Inspector plays a vital role in our team. Collaborating closely with a small group, this position involves conducting on-site inspections of various Fire Alarm Systems for our diverse clientele. This includes K-12 public school districts, colleges, universities, government entities, and businesses ranging from small enterprises to large corporations, many of which require rigorous background clearances. The role also demands meticulous completion of local, state, and federally-mandated inspection documentation within specified deadlines. While our clients are primarily located in Pennsylvania, occasional travel to our Reading, York, and State College offices, as well as overnight stays, will be necessary. Who You Are: You are a motivated team player with a strong passion for Life Safety, eager to contribute to the growth of our Fire Inspections Life Safety Division at BSGI. - Reading and interpreting blueprints to locate system devices within buildings
- Using manufacturers’ manuals to operate various panels
- Extracting fire alarm event data from different panels
- Conducting inspections and tests for fire alarms, occasionally covering security, sprinkler, and communication systems
- Utilizing inspection software to accurately document findings according to company and contractual standards in a timely manner
- Performing any necessary tasks to support the success of the Fire Inspections Life Safety Division
Where You'll Be Located: Ideally, you reside in Central, Eastern, or Southern Pennsylvania, within reasonable distance to our offices in Reading, York, or State College. Daily commute to these offices is not required. Daily travel to customer sites across Pennsylvania, with occasional overnight stays, is a regular part of the role. You must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver's license, and have minimal traffic violations to drive a company vehicle.
What You Bring:

Position Summary
The Technical Sales Coordinator plays an important role in supporting our sales team and helping projects move smoothly from opportunity to proposal. This position combines administrative coordination, customer account support, and technical proposal assistance for Fire Alarm, Security, Access Control, Video Surveillance, A/V, and Communications Systems.
We're looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. While some technical knowledge is helpful, this role offers opportunities to develop your skills while working closely with experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain CRM reports, proposal schedules, and opportunity tracking.
- Distribute weekly bid lists and coordinate bid assignments with the Asst. Sales Manager & VP of Sales.
- Update proposal and lead information within CRM software.
- Collect, track, and report sales leads.
- Research upcoming projects and identify opportunities during the design phase.
- Assist Application Specialists with project follow-up and workload management.
- Support estimating activities, including system take-offs when needed.
- Assist with basic design-related tasks involving:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Security Systems
- Video Surveillance
- Access Control
- Sound Systems
- Provide support with drawings, risers, and project documentation.
- Help maintain and update the company website, including SEO monitoring and reporting.
- Assist with social media marketing initiatives and email campaigns.
- Maintain customer email databases.
- Serve as a liaison for estimating software support and maintenance.
- Assist with COSTARS and Pennsylvania State Contract administration during contract renewals.
- Follow company safety practices and maintain regular in-person attendance.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
Qualifications
Preferred
- Associate degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

The Fire Technician I Role:
The Fire Technician I position reports to the Fire Alarm supervisor, as well as the Operations Manager. The Fire Technician I commissions, maintains, repairs and provides customer support for Fire Alarm Systems including, but not limited to: Siemens, Silent Knight, VESDA, Simplex, and Notifier.
The Fire Technician I will travel to client sites, which can range from public school buildings to small, medium, and enterprise-level businesses, to government entities which require stringent background clearances. Our clients are predominantly located within the state of Pennsylvania, though travel to our Reading, York, and State College offices, as well as occasional overnight travel will be necessary.

Where You’ll Be Located:
- Ideally, you're located in Central, Eastern, or Southern Pennsylvania within reasonable distance to one of our three offices (Reading, York, and State College). Daily commute to one of our offices is not necessary.
- Daily travel to customer sites primarily throughout the state of Pennsylvania, including occasional overnights, is necessary.

- Demonstrated ability to use multimeter, lineman's telephone test set, and basic electronic theory
- Solid customer service and communication skills

- At least one (1) year of experience with Fire Alarm system installations
- Associate's degree in Electronics or related field a
- Industry certifications such as NICET and formalized manufacturer training a plus
Physical Requirements:
Physical Fitness: Possess the physical ability to ascend/descend ladders and stairs, and access elevated areas to inspect fire alarm system components installed at various heights.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Must have hand dexterity to manipulate and handle materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily continuous basis. Any lifting over 50 pounds will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
Mobility: Ability to move freely and safely within tight spaces, crawl spaces, attics, and other areas where fire alarm systems are installed.
